Agriculture Minister, Ambassador to Sweden Discuss Innovations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov, held a working meeting with the republic's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Sweden, Rakhmatulla Nurimbetov.

The main theme of the interdepartmental consultations was identifying strategic vectors to elevate bilateral agricultural cooperation to a qualitatively new level, as well as attracting European innovations and expanding research collaboration.

During the talks, the parties analyzed in detail advanced Swedish developments of practical interest to the agro-industrial complex of Uzbekistan.

The diplomat and the head of the ministry paid special attention to environmentally friendly seed treatment technologies, which significantly improve crop quality characteristics and yields. In addition, the meeting participants reviewed modern European solutions for the efficient and sustainable use of natural and production resources.

A separate block of the discussion focused on the prospects of establishing direct contacts with Swedish research centers and high-tech companies. The potential partnership program includes accelerating the introduction of digital tools into agriculture and integrating fundamental research results directly into local production processes.

Furthermore, the agenda covered the modernization of the national food product certification system, technology transfers to the aquaculture industry, and the scaling up of joint investment projects.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual readiness for the consistent development of cooperation.
