ADB Supports Road Reconstruction in Surkhandarya Region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — With financial support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Uzbekistan is implementing phased large-scale infrastructure projects in the Surkhandarya region.
Reconstruction works are underway on sections of the 4R105 Darband–Baysun–Elbayon and 4R100 Manguzar–Jarkurgan–Bandikhan–Altynsay–Denau roads, with a total length of 111 kilometers.
The project provides for the construction of a cement-concrete surfaced highway passing through the Baysun, Bandikhan, Kumkurgan, Altynsay and Denau districts.
Upon completion, the Darband–Denau highway will create a more direct connection between the M41 and M39 highways in the Surkhandarya region.
As a result of the project, the distance from Surkhandarya region to the capital Tashkent will be reduced by 146 kilometers, significantly improving regional transport accessibility and the efficiency of logistics routes.
