Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The turnover of public catering enterprises in Uzbekistan reached 171 trillion soums in January-July 2026, rising 16.7% in real terms compared with the same period last year, the National Statistics Committee said.
As of 1 August 2026, there were 29,582 commercial enterprises operating in the country's public catering sector.
These included 147 large enterprises and 29,435 small businesses and microfirms.
Small businesses and microfirms therefore accounted for the overwhelming majority of operating commercial public catering enterprises. Their number was nearly 200 times higher than the number of large enterprises.
The National Statistics Committee highlighted the sector's growth in real terms. At the end of the first seven months of 2026, turnover was 16.7% higher than during the corresponding period of 2025.
