Uzbekistan Youth Boxing Team Tops Asian Championship
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s youth boxing teams have finished first in the overall team standings at the Asian Boxing Championships for athletes under 15 and under 17, which concluded in Tashkent.
On the final day of the tournament, U17 boxers competed for continental titles, confirming the dominance of the host nation.
Overall, Uzbek athletes collected 22 medals, including nine gold, seven silver, and six bronze medals, securing first place in the team standings at the Asian Championships.
Among the U17 gold medalists were Kumriniso Muhammadova (54 kg), Mehrimakh Kilichova (63 kg), Karina Ilmuratova (70 kg), and Sohibakhon Khudoyberdiyeva (over 80 kg), along with several members of the men’s and women’s national teams, including Kamronbek Bahodirov, Rushen Saidullayev, Bahodir Khalikulov, Abduvahid Abdumazhidov, and Marufjon Toshpulatov.
Silver medals were won by Rukhshonabonu Akhadova, Parvina Shakarova, Abdullo Nuraliev, Oybek Alimjonov, Abdulbosit Yursunboev, Akhmadkhan Abdusattorov, and Samandarbek Umarov.
Bronze medals also contributed to the team’s success, won by Farangiz Usvalieva, Marjona Khudoyberdiyeva, Salomatkhon Sardorova, Diyora Buriboeva, Lobar Shaymanova, and Feruzabonu Kamolova.
Uzbekistan’s U15 boxers also delivered a dominant performance, winning 27 medals, including 13 gold, eight silver, and six bronze medals, achieving the best overall result among all participating teams.
