Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbekistan U23 national wrestling team has confirmed its high level of preparation at the Asian Wrestling Championships, finishing the competition with an impressive total of 15 medals of various denominations.

The continental championship, held in the city of Da Nang in Vietnam, served as an important assessment of the country’s young athletes’ potential and the development of its national wrestling system.

On the final day of the tournament, Uzbekistan’s freestyle wrestler Fazliddin Nasriddinov, competing in the 74 kg weight category, won a bronze medal, adding to the team’s overall medal tally.

According to the final results, Uzbek athletes across all wrestling disciplines secured 15 medals, including 5 gold, 4 silver, and 6 bronze. The result reflects the steady development of the country’s youth training system and the effectiveness of its coaching staff.

Experts note that the achievements of the youth team are particularly significant in terms of building a competitive reserve for the senior national team. U23 tournaments are considered an important platform for preparing athletes for major international competitions, including World Championships, Asian Championships, and the Olympic Games.

Starting tomorrow, the Asian Championships for the U17 age category will begin in Da Nang, where Uzbekistan’s team also aims for strong performances and continued medal success.
