Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has approved procedures for providing tourism services on vacant non-agricultural land located within reservoir areas and in adjacent territories.

The regulations were approved by Government Resolution No. 609 dated 5 November 2026.

The document sets out rules for placing tourism and recreational facilities, as well as requirements for organising services for visitors.

One of the mandatory requirements is to establish a rescue service or sign an agreement with professional rescue organisations to ensure that personnel are on duty. Operators must also comply with safety rules for the operation of small vessels and their mooring facilities.

Tourism facility operators are also required to sign contracts with specialised organisations for the removal of household waste.

The regulations provide for the introduction of digital tools into tourism infrastructure. These include digital maps, online booking systems and QR code-based navigation.

The placement of facilities must take into account restrictions related to water protection and sanitary protection zones, as well as the risks of flooding and landslides.

Land plots for providing tourism services will be allocated through electronic online auctions in accordance with the procedure established by law.
