Uzbekistan Railways and EBRD Sign Digitalization Deal
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An agreement has been signed between Uzbekistan Railways (Uzbekiston temir yo‘llari) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to implement a digital transformation project for Uzbekistan’s railway sector.
The agreement was signed within the framework of the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum.
The document provides for the introduction of information systems for transport management and mainline railway operations, as well as measures to strengthen cybersecurity resilience in the sector.
The project aims to improve transportation management processes, increase operational efficiency, and develop modern digital solutions within railway infrastructure.
Particular attention under the agreement is given to strengthening the resilience and reliability of the company’s information infrastructure, ensuring stable and secure operation of key business processes.
The project is considered part of a broader modernization programme of the railway sector and is intended to enhance the country’s transport and logistics potential.
