Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has proposed a range of housing, commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects in Afghanistan during talks in Kabul, where a delegation led by Bobur Elm uradov, director general of O’zshaharsozlik LITI, arrived to discuss potential cooperation in construction, housing and infrastructure development.
The Uzbek side presented initiatives to build residential and commercial complexes, develop an industrial zone and establish a meat-processing cluster, Dunyo News Agency reported.
On the day of its arrival, the delegation met with Nasih Rabbani, Afghanistan’s deputy minister of urban development and housing for financial affairs, and other ministry representatives.
Afghan officials highlighted the friendly relations between the two countries and thanked Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for his support for the Afghan people. Ministry representatives also expressed their readiness to create the necessary conditions for Uzbek companies to participate in major construction and infrastructure projects in Afghanistan.
During the talks, Elm uradov presented the activities of O’zshaharsozlik LITI and Kommunal LITI and outlined proposals for implementing joint initiatives.
Among the proposals was the construction of a commercial complex and residential buildings in Kabul. The Uzbek side also suggested developing a modern residential and social complex on a 60-hectare site near Kabul International Airport.
Other initiatives included projects in the Hayraton industrial zone and the establishment of a meat-processing cluster in Mazar-i-Sharif. The proposed facility would produce quality meat products for supply to Uzbekistan.

Technical meetings at Afghanistan’s relevant ministry are planned for October. The Uzbek delegation is also expected to familiarise itself with ongoing projects in Kabul, including the New Kabul initiative.
