Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan discuss expanding partnership
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov held a telephone conversation with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev to discuss the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation.
According to Saidov, the Uzbek side began the conversation by congratulating Kyrgyzstan on its election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2027–2028 term. The achievement was described as a reflection of the country’s growing international standing and active role in multilateral diplomacy.
The ministers expressed satisfaction with the high level of friendship, good-neighbourly relations and comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
The discussion focused on the implementation of tasks set by the leaders of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as further expansion of cooperation in trade and economic relations, transport and communications, and cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
According to Saidov, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and deepening cooperation across key areas of mutual interest.
