Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Combined insurance payouts on the Uzbek market grew by 80.9% in the first half of 2026 to 2.253 trillion soums, from 1.245 trillion soums in the same period last year, the National Agency for Prospective Projects (NAPP) said. The pace of payout growth noticeably outstripped the growth in insurance premiums, which stood at 28.6% over the same period.
The bulk of payouts continued to come from the general insurance sector, where they rose 82.6% to 2.156 trillion soums.
Within that, payouts under voluntary insurance nearly doubled, rising 97.1% to 1.930 trillion soums, while growth under compulsory insurance was more moderate at 12.2%, to 226.4 billion soums.
In the life insurance sector, payouts rose 49.8% to 96.6 billion soums, including a 25.6% increase under compulsory insurance to 12.0 billion soums and a 54.0% rise under voluntary insurance to 84.5 billion soums.
Among general insurers, market leader Apex Insurance JSC made the largest volume of payouts at 926.9 billion soums, more than three times its figure a year earlier (+222.8%).
O'zbekinvest EISC JSC showed an even sharper increase, with payouts rising 380.4% to 283.6 billion soums.
Gross Sug'urta Kompaniyasi JSC (+109.3%, to 203.9 billion soums) and Kafolat Sug'urta Kompaniyasi JSC (+100.7%, to 155.8 billion soums) also substantially increased their payouts.
Some companies, by contrast, saw their payout volumes decline. Temiryo'l Sug'urta JSC cut payouts by 58.8% to 14.8 billion soums, My-Insurance JSC by 50.6% to 89.9 billion soums and Kapital Sug'urta JSC by 22.7% to 41.8 billion soums.
In the life insurance sector, payouts were also concentrated mainly in one company: Apex Life Insurance JSC paid out 76.1 billion soums, 64.8% more than a year earlier, accounting for about 79% of all payouts in the sector.
The sector's other companies — Alfa Life Insurance (+11.4%, to 9.7 billion soums), Kafolat Hayot Insurance (+25.5%, to 2.8 billion soums) and Agros Hayot (+12.8%, to 1.5 billion soums) — increased payouts moderately, while O'zbekinvest Hayot Sug'urta Kompaniyasi saw payouts fall 3.1% to 5.8 billion soums.
TBC Sug'urta JSC began making payouts in the reporting period, paying out 661 million soums after no payouts a year earlier.
