Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and India are preparing for the upcoming meeting of their intergovernmental commission, following talks between the Uzbek Ambassador Sardor Rustambaev and the Head of the Trade Department at India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Mohit Yadav.

The main focus of the discussions was the organization of the 14th meeting of the Uzbek-Indian Intergovernmental Commission, scheduled to take place in Tashkent on 18 June. The parties noted that they are actively coordinating organizational matters and maintaining close cooperation.

The talks also addressed the participation of the Indian delegation in the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum and the Uzbek-Indian Business Forum. The Indian side underlined the importance of these events for strengthening business ties between the two countries.

An agreement was reached to expand the composition of the Indian delegation to include representatives from digital technologies, agriculture, energy, education, textiles, pharmaceuticals, transport, and logistics sectors.

The Uzbek side proposed expanding participation of national businesses in investment and business events in India to promote the country’s export potential. The Indian side supported the initiative and expressed readiness for its practical implementation.

At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to ensure a high level of organization for the upcoming intergovernmental commission meeting and related business events in Tashkent.
