Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — An exhibition titled “Uzbekistan: Heritage in Motion,” showcasing the history and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan, has opened at the Museum of Islamic Art in Qatar.

The exhibition was opened by Saida Mirziyoyeva, head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, and Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

The exhibition features unique artifacts from museums in Uzbekistan and collections in Qatar. It covers the period from the pre-Islamic era to the present day and includes materials related to the Samanid and Timurid eras.

Separate sections focus on traditional crafts and textile art. The exhibits offer residents and visitors to Qatar an opportunity to learn about Uzbekistan’s history and cultural heritage.

Saida Mirziyoyeva said the exhibition provides an important opportunity to present Uzbekistan’s heritage to a Qatari audience and represents another step in developing cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Qatar.

On the same day, the “Ektashif Uzbekistan” exhibition also opened in Qatar. It was the result of a trip by seven Qatari artisans to Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara.

During their journey, the participants explored Uzbekistan’s culture and traditions, which were later reflected in their creative work. The exhibition features jewelry they created, texts produced in an ancient calligraphic style and carpets.

The Qatari artisans also presented photographs taken during their trip around Uzbekistan.

Both exhibitions are aimed at further familiarizing Qatar’s residents with Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage and strengthening humanitarian ties between the two countries.
