Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Deputy Agriculture Minister Alisher Shukurov held a meeting with Yildiray Gencher, president of the Economic Cooperation Organization Seed Association (ECOSA), the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan said.
The sides discussed developing cooperation in seed production, expanding the use of high-quality and high-yielding seeds, introducing modern technologies and strengthening the exchange of experience within ECOSA.
The participants also exchanged views on prospects for increasing Uzbekistan’s capacity in seed production, expanding practical ties with ECOSA member states and developing the exchange of best practices and technologies.
One of the main topics of the talks was preparations for the 9th ECOSA summit, scheduled to be held on 27–28 October this year.
In particular, the participants put forward proposals on organizing the summit, the participation of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Agriculture in the event and the discussion of current issues in the seed production sector.
The sides considered organizing the summit as an important platform for strengthening international cooperation in seed production, expanding direct contacts among industry representatives and promoting new initiatives.
At the end of the meeting, the sides agreed to continue cooperation in preparation for the 9th ECOSA summit, develop mutually beneficial areas of cooperation in seed production and work on coordinated initiatives.
