Uzbekistan Discusses Regional Industrial Development

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan held a seminar on 3 September focused on developing regional industry, making more effective use of existing potential and improving the work of regional industrial headquarters.

First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Ilhom Norkulov took part in the event.

Participants reviewed the existing system for developing industry in the regions, current challenges and mechanisms for addressing them. Particular attention was paid to increasing the production and export potential of enterprises, implementing new projects and identifying growth points in the regions.

One of the key areas discussed was data-driven industrial development planning. The participants also considered regular monitoring of enterprises, involving small companies in cooperation with large industrial enterprises, deeper processing of local raw materials and expanding value-added chains.

The seminar also examined proposals to make more effective use of industrial zones and small industrial centers. Participants discussed mechanisms for providing targeted support to exporting enterprises and opportunities to attract international brands to the regions.

Particular attention was given to the use of artificial intelligence technologies to analyze and forecast industrial development processes.

Following the event, priority tasks were identified to more fully unlock the industrial potential of the regions.

These include creating new jobs, increasing export volumes and expanding the geographical reach of supplies, boosting production of import-substituting goods and improving the competitiveness of regional industry.
