Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mirvokhid Azimov, held an official meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotenitary of the Russian Federation to the country, Aleksei Erkhov. The talks took place on 24 June 2026.

During the diplomatic dialogue, the officials reviewed in detail the current state and key prospects for the progressive development of the Uzbek-Russian strategic partnership and alliance relations.

A particular emphasis during the conversation was placed on increasing the volume of mutual trade and attracting mutual investments. The participants of the meeting discussed in detail the issues of expanding industrial cooperation, activating interregional ties, and intensifying tourist exchanges. In addition, the diplomats touched upon practical aspects of implementing joint investment projects in the priority and most promising sectors of the economics of the two states.

Along with the bilateral agenda, a thorough exchange of views took place at the meeting regarding the interaction between Tashkent and Moscow on multilateral platforms.

Mirvokhid Azimov and Aleksei Erkhov coordinated positions on partnership within leading international and regional structures, including the United Nations (UN), the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
