Uzbekistan, China Expand Law Enforcement Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and China have agreed to continue implementing their joint cooperation roadmap and expand practical interaction between their law enforcement agencies. The agreements were reached during an official visit by a delegation from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs to China, the Uzbek Interior Ministry said.

The talks were held between Uzbekistan’s Interior Minister, Lieutenant General Aziz Tashpulatov, and China’s Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong.

The sides agreed to consistently implement the 2026–2027 cooperation roadmap between Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and China’s Ministry of Public Security. They also discussed further developing cooperation within the Central Asia-China format.

A key focus of the talks was joint efforts to counter terrorism and extremism, drug trafficking, organized crime and other forms of transnational crime.

The sides paid particular attention to exchanging experience in cybersecurity and digital forensics. The officials also discussed expanding practical cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries.

The agenda also covered the use of modern technologies in law enforcement. In particular, the sides exchanged views on cooperation in biometric identification, advanced forensic technologies, police aviation and the use of unmanned aerial vehicles.

The meeting highlighted support from the Chinese government and Ministry of Public Security for strengthening the material and technical capacity of Uzbekistan’s Interior Ministry.

The role of the Innovation Education Center of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan was also highlighted. According to the ministry, the center will play an important role in training specialists with modern knowledge and skills for the law enforcement sector.

Following the talks, the sides identified further tasks to develop cooperation in the agreed areas. The visit took place at the invitation of the Minister of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China.
