Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Belarus discussed further cooperation in digital technologies and IT services during a meeting between Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov and Belarusian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan Alexander Ogorodnikov.
The Uzbek Ministry of Digital Technologies’ press service reported that the sides discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the IT sector.
Before the meeting, the Belarusian delegation visited IT Park Uzbekistan and was briefed on the development of Uzbekistan’s IT ecosystem, efforts to attract foreign investment, operating conditions for IT companies, tax incentives available to them and measures to expand export potential.
Particular attention was given to conditions for IT Park residents, mechanisms for supporting startups and opportunities for Uzbek and foreign IT companies to enter international markets.
The delegation then visited UZINFOCOM, where it was presented with the organization’s work in digital government, the digitalization of public services and the implementation of digital solutions for individuals and businesses.
The presentations were followed by an exchange of views on Uzbekistan’s experience in digital transformation, implemented solutions and opportunities for their practical application.
During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects for increasing IT service exports, sharing experience and strengthening cooperation between companies from the two countries. They also considered opportunities to expand the operations of Belarusian IT companies in Uzbekistan and implement joint projects in the local market.
The sides noted the potential for further cooperation in digital technologies and IT services within the framework of the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Belarus.
Following the meeting, the participants stressed the importance of continuing dialogue between relevant organizations and IT companies from the two countries, as well as jointly exploring areas of practical cooperation and implementing mutually beneficial projects.
