Uzbekistan and Leapmotor Explore EV Production Plans

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held at the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan between Deputy Minister Ilzat Kasimov and Vice President of China’s Leapmotor, Lei Ming, to discuss prospects for launching joint electric vehicle production.

The sides paid particular attention to increasing the level of localization in manufacturing and gradually expanding the share of Uzbek-made components in finished products. The proposed strategy is aimed not only at meeting domestic demand but also at developing export potential and entering international markets.

Following the talks, the participants agreed to continue discussions and move toward the practical development of the initiative aimed at implementing a joint industrial project in the electric mobility sector.
