Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's Ministry of Economy and Finance and the International Thinking Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries (ITTLLDC) met on 21 August 2026 to discuss developing transport and logistics capabilities and expanding international cooperation, the ministry said.

The meeting involved Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Umid Abidkhadjaev, ITTLLDC Executive Director Damdin-Od Dulguun, and representatives from relevant ministry departments and research institutes.

Discussions focused on developing transport and transit corridors, integrating landlocked developing countries into international transport networks, lowering trade costs, and strengthening regional connectivity. The participants also covered economic diversification, digital transformation, and institutional capacity building as priority areas for ITTLLDC.

The two sides exchanged views on Uzbekistan's transit potential and the diversification of external trade routes. Potential collaboration between ITTLLDC and Uzbek research centers, including the Development Strategy Center, the Center for Economic Research and Reforms, and the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies, was also discussed.

Following the meeting, both parties agreed to continue cooperation in transport, logistics, trade, economic development, and analytical research.
