Uzbekistan and Hungary Boost Tax Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A bilateral meeting between representatives of the Tax Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the National Tax and Customs Administration of Hungary (NTCA) was held on the sidelines of the 30th General Assembly of the International Organization of Tax Administrations (IOTA) in Budapest.
On the Hungarian side, the meeting was attended by Acting Chair of NTCA Csilla Tamás Cinege and Deputy Chair for Customs Affairs and International Cooperation Kristóf Péter Bakai.
The sides discussed prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation, as well as expanding collaboration within IOTA. The Hungarian side expressed support for Uzbekistan’s efforts to deepen integration into the international tax community and confirmed readiness to exchange experience on key areas of tax administration modernization.
Special attention was given to the digital transformation of tax authorities. The Hungarian side presented practical experience in implementing an online invoice system, the pre-filling mechanism for value-added tax declarations (eÁFA), and the use of artificial intelligence technologies in risk analysis and tax control.
The Uzbek delegation informed participants about ongoing reforms in the country aimed at further digitalizing tax administration, improving risk management systems, and developing a service-oriented model of interaction with taxpayers.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to intensify expert-level cooperation, hold thematic consultations between specialists of both countries, and consider expanding Uzbekistan’s participation in educational programs of the OECD Multilateral Tax Center in Budapest.
Both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in strengthening professional dialogue and developing a long-term partnership aimed at improving the efficiency of tax administration and implementing modern digital solutions.
