Uzbekistan and China expand cooperation on public security
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A bilateral meeting between Uzbekistan’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Lieutenant General Aziz Tashpulatov, and China’s Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong was held in Astana as part of the “Central Asia–China” format session.
During the talks, the sides discussed expanding cooperation in ensuring public security and countering modern transnational threats.
Main attention was paid to joint efforts to combat terrorism and extremism, illicit drug trafficking, organized crime, and other forms of transnational crime. Cooperation in the fields of cybersecurity and digital forensics was also reviewed, including experience sharing and personnel training.
The sides emphasized the need to further strengthen interagency cooperation and develop practical mechanisms of interaction to improve the effectiveness of responses to contemporary security challenges.
Following the meeting, a Cooperation Program between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Public Security of China for 2026–2027 was signed, defining key areas of joint work for the upcoming period.
During the talks, held in a constructive and friendly atmosphere, both sides confirmed their readiness to consistently develop cooperation and implement joint initiatives in the field of public security.
