Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Culture and Arts Development Foundation and Paris-based Centre Pompidou have signed a cooperation agreement to develop a long-term partnership and organise an exhibition dedicated to Uzbek art and culture.
The agreement was signed in Paris on 21 October following a meeting between Gayane Umerova, chairperson of the foundation, and Laurent Le Bon, president of Centre Pompidou.
Under the agreement, the parties plan to organise an exhibition at Centre Pompidou to introduce international audiences to the art and culture of Uzbekistan.
Centre Pompidou is a leading international institution for modern and contemporary art, with a major collection of works from the 20th and 21st centuries.
The partnership is part of broader efforts to strengthen Uzbekistan’s international cultural ties, pursued at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
