Uzbekistan and Asian MMA Federation Discuss Development of Mixed Martial Arts in Asia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held in Tashkent between President of the Uzbekistan Mixed Martial Arts Association Aziz Tashpulatov and President of the Asian MMA Association Gordon Tang.

Gordon Tang noted the rapid development of mixed martial arts in Uzbekistan in a short period, emphasizing that Uzbek athletes are already confidently representing the country on the international stage.

He also praised the organization of the Asian MMA Championship currently taking place in Tashkent and the conditions created for athletes and guests, stating that Uzbekistan’s experience in hosting major international tournaments contributes significantly to the development of MMA in Asia.

During the meeting, the sides discussed improving the qualifications of local referees, coaches, and specialists, as well as organizing joint training camps at the continental level.

Aziz Tashpulatov spoke about reforms implemented in Uzbekistan on the initiative of the head of state, aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle among young people and supporting young athletes involved in mixed martial arts.

Following the talks, the parties agreed to further develop cooperation between the MMA associations of Uzbekistan and Asia and to implement joint projects.
