Uzbek Woman and Child in Distress Returned to Tashkent From Novosibirsk
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Employees of the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Uzbekistan have provided comprehensive practical assistance to a compatriot and her young son who found themselves in an extremely difficult life situation in Novosibirsk, Russian Federation.
According to the Dunyo news agency, the female citizen of Uzbekistan was detained by local law enforcement authorities for violating the current migration legislation of the Russian Federation. Pending procedural actions, the woman was placed in a temporary detention center for foreign citizens, and her minor child was temporarily sent to a specialized state institution for minors, which resulted in the family being separated.
To urgently reunite the mother and child, employees of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk prepared and issued all necessary consular and travel documents for the boy in the shortest possible time. Significant additional support in coordinating the process and resolving organizational issues was provided by the local representative office of the Uzbekistan Agency of Migration. Thanks to the coordinated actions of diplomats and departmental structures, the woman and her son were brought to the Novosibirsk Tolmachevo International Airport on 18 June 2026, from where they safely departed on a regular scheduled flight to Tashkent.
The protection of the rights of Uzbek citizens abroad is systematic. Previously, similar assistance was provided to six citizens of the republic who found themselves in a difficult financial and social situation in Bulgaria; their evacuation to their homeland was organized with the assistance of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul and the Agency of Migration.
