Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Members of Uzbekistan’s national weightlifting team won 15 more medals at the Asian Junior and Youth Championships being held in Tashkent. On the latest competition day, Uzbek athletes claimed one gold, five silver and nine bronze medals.

Muhammadshokir Turdaliev won gold in the junior competition in the up to 95 kg weight category. He recorded the best result in the snatch.

Turdaliev also won silver in the total in the same weight category.

Bekzod Gofirjonov won two more silver medals in the youth competition in the up to 95 kg category. He finished second in the snatch and total.

Dilnura Kholdorova won two silver medals in the youth competition in the up to 77 kg category. She finished second in the clean and jerk and total.

Alisher Osmanov, Elbek Idiev and Khulkar Ruzikulova won bronze medals in the junior competition.

Osmanov won bronze in the snatch and total in the up to 95 kg category. Idiev finished third in the clean and jerk, snatch and total in the over 95 kg category. Ruzikulova won bronze in the clean and jerk in the over 77 kg category.

In the youth competition, Dilnoza Fayzullaeva won three bronze medals in the up to 77 kg category. She finished third in the clean and jerk, snatch and total.

Thus, Uzbek weightlifters added 15 medals to their tally on the latest competition day: one gold, five silver and nine bronze. The Asian Junior and Youth Championships in Tashkent are continuing.
