Uzbek President Mirziyoyev Begins State Visit to Georgia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, departed for Tbilisi on 2 July 2026 for a state visit at the invitation of the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze.

According to the presidential press service, high-level bilateral talks will take place in the Georgian capital to review the further development of friendship and multifaceted partnership between Uzbekistan and Georgia.

The two sides are expected to discuss prospects for expanding cooperation in trade, economic, investment, transport, logistics, cultural, humanitarian, and other areas of mutual interest.

The state visit program also includes the participation of the Uzbek president in a number of cultural and humanitarian events.

The visit takes place against the backdrop of intensifying bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Georgia. On the eve of the visit, Tbilisi hosted an Uzbek-Georgian business forum, a meeting of the Business Council, and a series of meetings between government officials and business leaders from both nations focused on expanding trade, economic, and investment interaction.
