Uzbek Migration Agency Reviews Incident in Russia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's Migration Agency said it has taken under review a situation involving videos circulating on social media showing Uzbek citizens during inspection measures carried out by Russian law enforcement authorities in Nizhny Novgorod region.

According to the agency, its representative office in Russia, together with Uzbekistan's Consulate General in Kazan, is working with the relevant Russian authorities to clarify all the circumstances surrounding the incident and to ensure the rights and legitimate interests of Uzbek citizens.

The agency also said it has established contact with an Uzbek citizen identified as M.S., who appears in the published video. She is receiving the necessary consular and legal assistance.

The agency added that an airline ticket for the woman's return to Uzbekistan has been purchased using funds from the Migration Fund. Her arrival in Uzbekistan is scheduled for 6 August 2026.
