Uzbek FM holds meeting with delegation of subcommittee on human rights of European parliament
During the visit, members of the European Parliament will hold meetings at the Uzbek parliament, ministries and departments, as well as representatives of civil society.
Uzbek Foreign Minister and the delegation of the European Parliament discussed current state and perspectives of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and the EU in the sphere of interest of human rights subcommittee of the European parliament, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
It was noted that regular meetings in the format of Uzbekistan-EU joint subcommittee on justice, internal affairs, human rights, which provides for a separate mechanism for the Dialogue on Human Rights, allow exchanging opinions on topical issues of interaction on a systematic and constructive basis.
The European side received information on ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan, including directed at constructing democratic legal state and strong civil society.
The sides also considered other issues of mutual interest.
