Thailand to end visa-free travel for Uzbeks in Sept
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbek citizens traveling to Thailand for tourism will be required to obtain a visa prior to departure starting 15 September 2026, according to the press service of Uzbekistan Airways.
The new requirement eliminates both the current 60-day visa-free entry regime and the option to receive a Visa on Arrival. Citizens of Uzbekistan can continue to enter Thailand without a visa for stays of up to 60 days through 14 September 2026.
Once the new rules take effect, travelers must secure a tourist visa in advance. Applications can be submitted online through the official portal at thaievisa.go.th. However, the website does not support online payment for visa fees, requiring applicants to pay the fee in US dollars at the nearest thaievisa.go.th.
Uzbekistan Airways issued a specific advisory for passengers on flight HY531, which departs Tashkent on 14 September 2026 but lands in Bangkok on 15 September 2026. Passengers on this flight will fall under the new entry regulations and must hold a valid visa prior to boarding.
The airline advised passengers to consider the rule changes when planning travel and purchasing tickets, warning that non-compliance could result in denied boarding or entry refusal upon arrival in Thailand.
