Tashkent to Launch Peak-Hour Bus Route to UzSWLU
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Tashkent will launch a temporary bus route between Mirzo Ulugbek metro station and the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages (UzSWLU) from 7 September.
The route is being introduced ahead of the 2026/2027 academic year to make travel more convenient for students and reduce pressure on the city’s public transport system, Toshshahartranskhizmat said.
Additional buses will operate during the morning peak hour from 07:00 to 08:00. Four high-capacity buses will be deployed on the route.
Transport services will be organized jointly by the Tashkent city hokimiyat, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation and the Ministry of Transport. The temporary route is intended to reduce passenger flows on the metro and help prevent traffic congestion on the roads.
The route will start at Mirzo Ulugbek metro station. Buses will then travel along Takhtagul Street, the Small Ring Road, Lutfi and Kukcha Darvoza streets before reaching Zakovat Street, where the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages is located.
The temporary route will operate during the morning hours, when public transport is expected to face increased demand following the start of the academic year.
