Tashkent Police Seize Nearly 10 Kilograms of Drugs

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Officers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, working jointly with the State Security Service (SGB), shut down an online drug shop operating in Tashkent, seizing nearly 10 kilograms of illicit substances, according to the ministry.

Law enforcement personnel detained the administrator and curator of the online store, identified as a 37-year-old Tashkent native with prior convictions under Articles 164 and 278 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan.

During a search of the suspect's vehicle and residence, law enforcement officers recovered 9.33 kilograms of hashish and 0.545 kilograms of methamphetamine. The ministry stated that the drugs were stored for subsequent distribution.

The total volume of seized narcotics, amounting to 9.875 kilograms, equaled 64,817 single doses, averaging approximately 0.15 grams per dose.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that under Uzbek law, individuals convicted of drug-related offenses of this scale face up to 20 years in prison.

The targeted operational-preventative measures, conducted under the ongoing "Kora-Dori 2026" campaign, remain underway across the republic.
