Switzerland Names Simone Giger as New Envoy to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov received copies of the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Uzbekistan, Simone Giger, according to the head of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the further development of bilateral relations. Particular attention was paid to intensifying political dialogue, expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation, developing industrial cooperation, and promoting new joint projects.

Saidov wished Simone Giger success in her diplomatic activities and reaffirmed full support for her efforts to further develop Uzbek-Swiss relations.

Simone Giger succeeded Konstantin Obolensky as Ambassador of Switzerland to Uzbekistan.
