Speaker of Legislative Chamber Receives Azerbaijani Ambassador

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, Nuriddin Ismoilov, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan, Huseyn Guliyev, who is concluding his diplomatic mission in the country.

During the conversation, the parties noted that in recent years, Uzbek-Azerbaijani cooperation has reached a qualitatively new level due to the political will and consistent policies of the leaders of the two states.

Special attention was paid to the working visit of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Azerbaijan on 17–18 May of the current year. According to the participants of the meeting, this visit marked a new stage in the development of strategic partnership and alliance relations between the two countries.

Nuriddin Ismoilov emphasized Huseyn Guliyev's contribution to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

In turn, the diplomat expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and noted that during his time working in Uzbekistan, he was able to become better acquainted with the history of the country and the heritage of its outstanding historical figures, which left a deep impression on him.

According to the ambassador, the brotherly ties between the two states and the political will of their leaders contributed to raising bilateral relations to a qualitatively new level in all spheres.

The parties also noted the activation of interparliamentary cooperation in recent years and emphasized the importance of further strengthening the role of parliaments in implementing agreements reached at the highest level, amid the dynamic development of the strategic partnership and the expansion of bilateral interaction.

The meeting was held in an open and friendly atmosphere.
