Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Adiz Boboev, Governor (Khokim) of Samarkand region, met with Pini Atahuz, head of the American company Cove Capital, as part of the Fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum. The main topic of the talks was an investment project for the mining and deep processing of tungsten in the region.

During the meeting, the company's representative presented Cove Capital's experience in industrial production and the development of strategically important mineral resources.

The parties discussed prospects for establishing a full production cycle based on tungsten deposits in Samarkand region, covering mining, ore processing, concentrate production and the manufacture of high value-added products.

Particular attention was given to practical aspects of implementing the project, including geological exploration, licensing matters, infrastructure development and ensuring a stable energy supply. Regional authorities expressed their readiness to provide the necessary support at all stages of the initiative.

The talks also considered the possibility of establishing a specialised industrial cluster in Samarkand region for the processing of strategic mineral resources.

Following the meeting, the parties stressed the importance of the project for the region's industrial development.
