Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Ten volunteers from Russia’s Pushkin State Russian Language Institute will visit Uzbekistan’s Namangan region from 17 to 24 October 2026 as part of the international volunteer programme Russian Language Ambassadors in the World, the institute said.

The volunteers will conduct interactive lessons, creative activities and masterclasses on the Russian language, literature and culture for school pupils and university students.

The expedition will be led by a methodologist and organiser from the Pushkin Institute. The team includes both experienced Russian language ambassadors and volunteers preparing to conduct their first classes with audiences abroad.

For the newcomers, the trip will be a step towards obtaining the programme’s Russian Language Ambassador distinction.

Activities will take place at several educational institutions across the region. At the Ishokkhon Ibrat Namangan State Institute of Foreign Languages, the volunteers will meet students studying Russian language and literature, as well as future Russian language teachers.

Masterclasses and meetings are also planned at the University of Business and Law, Namangan State University, Turan International University and the private IZB school.

“Uzbekistan is one of the important areas of the Russian Language Ambassadors in the World programme. I am confident that classes at schools and universities in Namangan region will help strengthen young people's interest in the Russian language and become another step in developing educational cooperation between our countries,” Pushkin Institute Rector Nikita Gusev said.

For programme participant Polina Dyudina, the expedition will be her first. She said it would also be her first trip abroad and that she looked forward to teaching Russian and introducing students to the Russian education system and the opportunities it offers.

The Russian Language Ambassadors in the World programme has been run by the Pushkin Institute since 2015, with support from Russia’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Rossotrudnichestvo.
