PSG reach Champions League final after Bayern draw

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have reached the UEFA Champions League final after drawing 1-1 away against Bayern Munich in the second leg of their semifinal tie. The match, played in Munich, ended 6-5 on aggregate in favor of the French side.

PSG opened the scoring in the third minute when Ousmane Dembélé finished a move following an assist from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The hosts equalized deep into stoppage time, with Harry Kane scoring in the 90+4th minute, but the goal was not enough to prevent Bayern’s elimination.

The decisive outcome over the two legs was shaped by the first match played in Paris on April 28, where PSG secured a 5-4 victory. That result ensured the French club progressed to the final for the second consecutive year.

Kvaratskhelia was one of the standout players of the semifinal stage, providing an assist in the second leg. According to tournament statistics, he became the first player in UEFA Champions League history to register goal contributions in seven consecutive knockout matches within a single season. Across the current campaign, he has played 15 matches, scoring 10 goals and providing seven assists.

In the final, PSG will face Arsenal, who eliminated Atletico Madrid across two legs in the other semifinal. It will be only the second Champions League final in Arsenal’s history, after their previous appearance in the 2005/06 season.

The UEFA Champions League final is scheduled for May 30 and will take place in Budapest.
