Fourth North and Central Asia Multilateral Forum on the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The North and Central Asia Multilateral Forum on the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (Subregional Forum on the Implementation of the SDGs) is an annual event organized since 2017 by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) with partners inside and outside the United Nations system.

The Subregional Forum on the Implementation of the SDGs is being held from 2 to 4 September 2020 in a virtual format. The theme of the Subregional Forum on SDG Implementation this year is Human Well-Being and the SDGs: Recovering from the COVID-19 Crisis. The forum will focus on what can and should be the “new normal” after the pandemic. The Sustainable Development Goals topic and thematic block are in line with HLPF 2021.

The Subregional Forum on the Implementation of the SDGs provides an opportunity to discuss the current situation in the implementation of the SDGs in the countries of North and Central Asia, and possible measures and solutions to accelerate the achievement of the 2030 agenda in the context of overcoming the negative consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and recovering on the principle of “better than It was". The results and recommendations of the Subregional Forum on SDG Implementation will be reflected in regional and global processes, in particular in the work of the annual Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APPSD) and the HLPF.

This year, the co-organizers of the Subregional Forum on the Implementation of the SDGs will be: WHO, ILO, UN Women, FAO, UNEP, UNESCO.
