Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Ziroat Mirziyoyeva, First Lady of Uzbekistan, and Tamara Vučić, First Lady of Serbia, visited cultural landmarks in Belgrade as part of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s official visit to Serbia.

The program began with a visit to the National Museum of Serbia. Ziroat Mirziyoyeva and Tamara Vučić viewed the museum’s collection, which includes archaeological artifacts related to Serbia’s history, as well as works of Serbian and world art. They also visited an exhibition of traditional crafts organized by Etno-mreža.

One of the main highlights was the Miroslav Gospel, one of Serbia’s key national relics and the oldest surviving monument of Serbian Cyrillic writing. The 12th-century manuscript is of significant artistic value and is decorated with miniatures. In 2005, UNESCO included the Miroslav Gospel in the Memory of the World Register.

The first ladies then visited the Church of Saint Sava, one of the world’s largest Orthodox churches and one of Serbia’s most important spiritual symbols.

During the meeting, Ziroat Mirziyoyeva and Tamara Vučić emphasized the importance of further developing cultural and humanitarian ties between Uzbekistan and Serbia.
