Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) —  One person was killed in an explosion and subsequent fire at a multi-fuel gas station in Ferghana region.

According to the press service of the regional Emergency Situations Department (ESD), the incident occurred at a gas station located on Ahmad Yassawi Street in the city of Ferghana.

Four people were injured, and eight others are under medical observation.

The ESD reported that the explosion occurred at 1:43 PM during the offloading of liquefied gas. The cause of the incident was identified as violations of the technological process and safety regulations.

Firefighters arrived at the scene at 1:47 PM, localized the fire by 2:02 PM, and completely extinguished it by 2:12 PM.

Efforts to mitigate the aftermath of the fire were swiftly organized at the scene, with the involvement of ESD staff, local government representatives, and officials from relevant ministries and agencies.
