National Social Protection Agency runs children’s and mercy homes

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – From 1 January 2024, the National Social Protection Agency of Uzbekistan has been managing orphanages and mercy homes.

In accordance with the presidential decree, the following were transferred to the Agency’s structure:

from the Ministry of Health - Children’s Home;

from the system of the Ministry of Preschool and School Education - Mehribonlik House (House of Mercy);

from the system of local executive authorities - child protection sectors and family orphanages.

The transfer of institutions was carried out with the aim of forming a unified system for managing the social protection of minors.
