SQB and Huawei Expand Strategic Cooperation in Artificial Intelligence
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — JSCB Uzpromstroybank (SQB) and Huawei have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at expanding cooperation in artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and banking infrastructure.
The document provides for the implementation of innovative solutions to advance the bank's digital transformation.
Under the leadership of the President of Uzbekistan, large-scale reforms are being implemented across the country to develop the digital economy, digitize public and financial services, and broadly introduce artificial intelligence technologies.
In this process, a key priority is the effective application of innovative technologies within the banking system, upgrading digital infrastructure, and introducing new client services.
Under the memorandum, the parties will execute joint projects focused on developing intelligent financial solutions, building high-performance computing infrastructure, improving the efficiency of banking processes, and offering new digital services to clients.
During the signing ceremony, the sides also examined international best practices for adopting advanced banking technologies. Huawei specialists presented case studies and results from projects implemented across China's financial sector.
Tang Xiaoxiang, Director of Huawei Uzbekistan, noted that Huawei and SQB have already completed a series of joint projects involving network infrastructure. He stated that SQB is actively pursuing digital development, client experience enhancements, operational efficiency, and the deployment of intelligent solutions, aligning with Huawei's strategy to create value through AI capabilities. He expressed enthusiasm for expanding cooperation and introducing advanced technologies to the country.
Sergey Kozlov, Director of Artificial Intelligence at Uzpromstroybank, emphasized that the agreement is an important milestone in the bank's technological strategy.
He highlighted Huawei's extensive international expertise in information technology, hardware, and AI, noting that the partnership will provide SQB with access to advanced technologies and expert knowledge, accelerate its digital transformation, and support the creation of intelligent products. He added that the collaboration establishes a solid foundation for strengthening regional cooperation and unlocking new prospects in Central Asia.
Huawei brings 16 years of experience in developing technologies for the financial industry and currently collaborates with more than 7,100 financial institutions in 80 countries worldwide.
The signed memorandum will allow SQB to apply international experience, adopt innovative solutions, and develop next-generation, AI-driven banking services.
