Most potatoes are grown in Samarkand region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- In January-June 2021, farms of all categories grew 1.54 million tons of potatoes. This is 3.5% more than in the same period of last year, the State Committee on Statistics said.

About 92.0% of all grown potatoes fall on the share of dekhkan farms.

In terms of regions, high positions in potato production are held by Samarkand – 286,300 tons, Surkhandarya – 210,300 tons and Ferghana region – 191,400 tons.

At the same time, Jizzakh region with 10,400 tons, Syrdarya region with 25,800 tons and Republic of Karakalpakstan with 26,900 tons take the last place in potato production.
