Mirziyoyev Visits Investor Center in Ferghana
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Investor Service Center in Ferghana during the second day of his trip to the region, inspecting its operations and reviewing new initiatives aimed at strengthening investment activity and industrial cooperation.
The center, located within the Farg‘ona Expo international exhibition complex, is designed to promote the region’s economic potential, facilitate industrial partnerships, and support export growth. In addition to serving as an exhibition venue, it functions as a unified communication platform connecting entrepreneurs and investors.
Covering an area of five hectares, the complex allows more than 200 industrial enterprises to present their products. The eight-story building has been designed with business needs in mind: the first two floors host organizations supporting trade, investment, and entrepreneurship, while the upper floors are allocated for offices of investors and companies.
Throughout the year, the center hosts 15 sector-specific exhibitions and trade fairs, enabling direct engagement between government institutions, manufacturers, exporters, and investors. The successful model implemented in Ferghana is expected to be replicated in other regions, including Tashkent, Bukhara, Jizzakh, and Samarkand.
During the visit, the president was also presented with digital solutions developed to support investment processes. These include the Unified National Project Management Information System, as well as the invest.gov.uz and pmi.miit.uz platforms. Together, they create a single digital ecosystem for participants in the investment process and ensure transparency at all stages, from project initiation to implementation.
The system operates on a “single window” principle, allowing investors to select projects, monitor progress through personal accounts, and engage consultants when necessary. All requests are recorded in an integrated system connected to relevant ministries, with deadlines assigned automatically and monitored by designated managers. In case of delays, issues are escalated to a government commission for prompt resolution.
Several prospective investment projects were presented during the visit. These include the establishment of an Eurasian International Trade Center in cooperation with China, a biopellet production facility and a thermal power plant project with South Korea, and the creation of a medical cluster with Turkey’s participation.
Additional initiatives include a drinking water supply project involving partners from France, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar, as well as plans for a five-star hotel, a modern congress hall, a new recreational park format in Kuvasay, and an electric vehicle battery production facility.
The president also reviewed exhibitions showcasing Ferghana’s industrial and service potential, including products from handicrafts, construction materials, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, textiles, leather and footwear, and jewelry sectors. Additional displays featured food production, eco-transport, oil and gas, furniture, pharmaceuticals, and chemical industries.
He also held a meeting with foreign investors, where discussions focused on accelerating project implementation, removing barriers to business activity, and expanding international cooperation. Proposals included expanding gold processing capacities and establishing modern cable production facilities.
Following the discussions, Mirziyoyev issued instructions aimed at improving efficiency, transparency, and the speed of investment project implementation across the region.
