Mirziyoyev to Attend Ecology Summit in Astana

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay a working visit to Astana on 21–22 April at the invitation of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The head of state will take part in the Regional Ecological Summit, as well as in a meeting of the Council of Heads of State–Founders of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.

During the events, participants are expected to discuss issues of strengthening regional cooperation aimed at ensuring sustainable development in Central Asia, as well as pressing environmental, climate, and water-related challenges facing the region.

The President of Uzbekistan is expected to present his assessments and policy approaches on these issues and visit a specialized environmental exhibition featuring national pavilions.

Following the summit, a number of documents are expected to be adopted aimed at further developing cooperation among regional countries in the environmental sphere.
