Mirziyoyev and UN-Habitat Discuss Urban Development

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — 

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks on May 18 with United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Anacláudia Rossbach during the World Urban Forum.

The discussions focused on prospects for expanding cooperation with UN-Habitat in the areas of sustainable urban development, modernization of urban infrastructure, and the introduction of modern approaches to urban planning policy.

Special attention was paid to the implementation of agreements reached earlier during a meeting held at the Samarkand Climate Forum. The sides emphasized the need to further strengthen cooperation, including the preparation of a joint roadmap, expansion of project implementation, and intensified expert-level collaboration.

The parties also exchanged views on the practical implementation of initiatives put forward by the President of Uzbekistan at the World Urban Forum.
