Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The United Kingdom Minister for Investment, Lord Stockwood, has concluded an official visit to Uzbekistan aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation in the financial, investment, and economic spheres.
As part of the trip, the head of the British delegation participated in the Tashkent International Investment Forum (TIIF-2026) and held a series of negotiations with key leaders of the country's economic sector.
During the visit, Lord Stockwood was received by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The British minister also met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, Jamshid Kuchkarov, the Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, as well as the leadership of the National Agency for Perspective Projects (NAPP) and representatives of the transport sector.
The parties discussed in detail the progress of institutional reforms in the country, the prospects for the privatization of state assets, the financing of large infrastructure projects, and opportunities for integrating the financial and professional sectors of the United Kingdom into the development of the Uzbek capital market.
At the investment forum, Lord Stockwood led a high-level British panel session dedicated to mobilizing capital to ensure inclusive and sustainable growth in Uzbekistan. Representatives of the London Stock Exchange (LSE), the UK Export Finance (UKEF) agency, and private businesses participated in the discussion.

A landmark event of the forum was the participation of the largest British business delegation in the history of bilateral relations, bringing together more than 200 representatives from various companies. Commenting on the results of the visit, Lord Stockwood emphasized that the United Kingdom views Uzbekistan as a serious and promising partner and aims to become its reliable, long-term guide in the world of global finance.
