Karakalpakstan to Host International YONAR Festival
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The international festival of experimental art and creative tourism “YONAR” will be held from 16 to 19 September 2026 at the Borsakelmess salt flat in Kungrad district of Karakalpakstan.
The festival will bring together contemporary art, creative activities, creative industries and tourism. Its main objective is to showcase Karakalpakstan’s natural landscapes and tourism potential to international audiences.
As part of the festival, information tours will be organized for representatives of domestic and international media outlets, bloggers and content creators. Photo and video materials produced during the trips are planned to be promoted on international and digital platforms.
The necessary infrastructure will be provided for festival visitors. In particular, food service points and sanitation facilities will be set up, while access to drinking water will be ensured.
At least 15 yurts are also planned to be installed at the festival site.
The YONAR festival is intended to bring together contemporary art and creative industries with the promotion of Karakalpakstan’s natural and cultural tourism potential.
