Ferghana-Balkh Business Forum Held in Mazar-i-Sharif

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Ferghana-Balkh Business Forum took place in Mazar-i-Sharif, bringing together representatives from more than 300 companies and enterprises, along with business owners from both regions. Participants discussed expanding trade and economic ties and prospects for implementing joint investment projects.

The event was attended by Khokim of Ferghana Region Khayrullo Bozorov, representatives of the Balkh Province leadership, heads of chambers of commerce and industry, and members of the business community.

Speaking at the forum, Bozorov noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan has reached a new level in recent years. He stated that developing direct ties between the regions of the two countries is becoming a key priority.

Forum participants identified promising areas for collaboration, including agriculture, trade, construction, pharmaceuticals, the textile and food industries, and the cultivation and processing of fruit and vegetable products.

Chairman of the Balkh Chamber of Commerce and Investment Ibrohim Gazanfar and other participants emphasized the importance of direct business contacts for expanding economic relations, establishing new partnerships, and executing joint projects.

Following the forum, the Ferghana Regional Khokimiyat and Kamal Nabizada Ltd signed a memorandum on opening the Ferghana Trade House in Mazar-i-Sharif. A cooperation memorandum was also signed between the chambers of commerce and industry of Ferghana Region and Balkh Province to support entrepreneurship and implement investment projects.

B2B negotiations between business owners were held as part of the event. Business representatives discussed product supplies, the creation of joint ventures, and the implementation of investment projects.

The forum was organized with the assistance of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment and the regional administrations of Ferghana and Balkh.
