Ferghana and Balkh to Expand Economic Ties
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Ferghana Region and Balkh Province agreed to expand trade, economic, investment, and interregional cooperation during a meeting between Khokim of Ferghana Region Khayrullo Bozorov and Governor of Balkh Province Muhammad Yusuf Wafa in Mazar-i-Sharif.
The parties discussed opportunities to elevate the partnership between the regions to a new level and develop cultural and humanitarian ties.
Special attention was paid to implementing joint projects in the textile industry, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, building materials production, and other industrial sectors.
Representatives of Balkh Province received information on Ferghana Region's economic and investment potential, incentives for foreign investors, and opportunities within free economic zones.
The sides agreed to step up direct contacts between business leaders of both regions and increase mutual supply volumes.
Specifically, plans involve supplying fruits grown in Balkh Province to Ferghana Region for deep processing.
Following the meeting, the parties outlined measures for the further development of interregional cooperation and the execution of joint projects.
