Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) and the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan have signed a memorandum of cooperation under the Technical Assistance Fund.
The document provides for support of projects aimed at developing exports, certifying products, and expanding non-financial instruments of support for Uzbek businesses.
Funds from the Technical Assistance Fund will be directed to help local manufacturers bring their products into compliance with international standards, enter new markets, and expand export potential.
EDB Chairman of the Management Board Nikolay Podguzov noted that in order to compete successfully in foreign markets, manufacturers must meet importers’ requirements for quality, safety, and standards.
“Our task is to help businesses go through this process: from certification to the first export contract,” he said.
Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Khurram Teshabaev emphasized that cooperation with the EDB provides not only financial support but also access to international expertise.
According to him, the fund’s technical assistance will help establish a systematic approach to promoting Uzbek products in foreign markets, including member countries of the bank.
The memorandum also provides for joint work on developing export infrastructure, implementing certification and standardization systems, and training specialists.
The document was signed during the official opening of the EDB representative office in Uzbekistan.
The Eurasian Development Bank is a multilateral development bank operating across the Eurasian region. As of the end of December 2025, its accumulated portfolio included 326 projects worth a total of $19.6 billion.
Most EDB projects are implemented in the fields of transport infrastructure, digital systems, green energy, agriculture, industry, and mechanical engineering.
